my classic moment was in the porridge movie, fletcher and godber on the run from the 5ives, hiding in undergrowth.

Fletch: "Look over there"
Godb: "what is it?"
Fletch: "cops"
Godb: "what, a wooded glade?"
Fletch: "yeah, a wooded glade,....crawling with cops"

Porridge made prison look like quite fun. I bet generations of youths committed crimes thinking they could buy into the banter and free food of prison. Sigh.

Having been in Strangeways recently (working, not doing a stretch I might add) it's fair to say that Porridge is possibly the least accurate representation of prison life ever!

Unless there's a previously unseen episode where Fletch grows his big toenail really long so he can slit his own wrist with it at a later date.....
