Has a hold broken off the top section of this? After tackling the first bulge on the small undercuts, there is a crimp near the bolt and just above this a line of 3 good pockets. Is there anything in between those pockets and the finishing jug as it felt hard doing a big pull with nothing much for your feet???

 Only just spotted this topic.
 No nothings come off. The crux involved pasting feet on lip (super bunched) then making a rather wild stab for the hold in the break. Not super-hard but very easy to miss move, can be frustrating. Felt similar and not much easier than Yorkshire 8b (the route of that name not the grade) to me.

cheers john, I returned after that visit and just pulled a lot harder.
Its a spitting image of Yorkshire 8b...with everything just a bit bigger..Both very good routes for ye of little stamina...

 Had a look at descriptions of Empire Burlesque after trying it with you last week. It sounds like it used to have a big jug before the top roof and that you deviate right to big jug in a hole under the top roof, rather than make that hideous gaston move I was falling off.

That's the one. I think only one of the snapped holds effects the difficulty really and only marginally at that
