It does have a roof, with a few problems between 5a-5c. All of the hold the swing and go for the jug variety as far I can remember. And most of the other problems at Hutton roof are either easy or tricky starts followed by easy climbing to the top. Great fun if you're in a soloing/highball mood.

Greg, when you say variations on Cyclops, do you mean eliminates, or different starting points or what? I seem to remember sort of bridging a bit, then slapping up to something with my left hand I think. Was a bit of a stretch. Felt like hard 6a at the time, certainly harder than V1. Maybe I was doing it wrong?

I have done about 10 differant methods to get to the break (below the roof) and yes they are eliminates but fun, I obvious line is V3 straight up the wall to below the roof (arriving at the break with the "cyclops" just over your left shoulder), a quality problem but beware of the polish!!!

If you climb Cyclops wall right of centre using all available holds (as described in the guide) its V1. If climb it a little more centrally not using the holds out right its prob V3, if you climb the centre of the wall direct its probably V5. ALthough as Tom points out the wall lends its self to "variations " on the same theme, of which there are a fair few... yawn.

Get yourself on New Rose its f**king classic! Best limestone wall problem in the country!!! Rose Traverse across the same face (V4) is also really good as is "Twenty First Century Digital Kid" (V2), not forgetting the ubber 80's masterpiece "The Coil" V6/7. All these are better than anything at Hutton Roof and are just over the hill.
