Completely flooded tonight, I've never seen it so deep.  We walked over to the Cornice (which was running with water) and watched the family of swans were around at the foot of caviar where the path was at least a foot or two underwater.

How are conditions with all this rain? Flooded again? In particular is caviar dry?

Would have thought it will be allright to be honest mate. I mean, there has been rain, but the spells have been fairly brief. I would say go for it - fail back to tor if you need it. That said - could be baking.

caviar will be dry - even if the river has come into the base of the route there area couple of old pallets knocking about in the bushes you can use to lay a mat on and keep the rope/belayer dry.

Last year at one point it got so deep that the stacked pallets with mats on top became a sort of raft. Many a happy hour I spent bobbing around in the filthy water waiting for redpoint attempts. A dinghy and waders might have been more appropriate.

The unmentionable was just about climbable last night. I thought all was lost until I applied some chalk to the holds to soak up the moisture and it seemed to be OK. On the damp side of 'sticky-damp'.

Kudos wall was dry last night (despite the downpour) and conditions seemed amazing. No big puddles on the ground either (although it did rain all last night as well....)

Bit muddy / wet beneath Rubicon & the warm up traverses.

the kudos bit pretty much never floods (ditto the bit where sissy is), you just might have to wade in/out.

Yesterday afternoon the rock at Rubicon was all dry. The bases of Kudos wall and the Sissy was OK, the base of the traverse wall was boggy, the bases of Rubicon and Caviar and Barracuda were under a few inches of water, and the bases of Tribe, DB and TOTBB, were patchy slippy mud and puddles.

The other place was completely drenched in condensation.

Is the other place likely to dry up soon?

its a hard one to call. proper seepage generally takes 2 days to come though. you main enemy is condensation.

It was OK to climb up there yesterday, some seepage around the Pinch area though. Holds felt a little damp in general but climable.
