Everything dry today although the landings were a bit soggy under all except Kudos!

I know this might be being wildly optimistic considering it's pissed it down at work / home for the last two days and I'm looking out of the window at horizontal rain but.............anyone know if Crag X is dry? :'( Failing that, is Rubicon still unflooded? Not sure what the weather's been doing out that way whilst it's lagged it down here.  :-\

You never know with the land of darkness - could be ok, could be fucked. There have been times when I would have sworn it would be fucked and it hasnt been, and times when it should've been brilliant and it hasnt.

I would have thought Rubbercon should be ok tbh. Been showers more than torrential constant downpour. That said, Buxton weather reckons 23mm since midnight. Which sounds quite like a torrential downpour I suppose. Hoping to go later...

We've had the 23mm since about 6am this morning... my back garden is underwater and the roads are running with it. It's really really wet  and we are still getting very heavy showers >:(

The crags themselves might be dry though but I don't know about water levels underfoot or runoff through the trees above and down the cliffs.

Well I decided to have a look and unbelievably after driving through monsoon conditions on the way there and getting soaked and muddy on the path of doom, Crag X was bone dry yesterday afternoon. Odd conditions as it was cold (7 degrees) but there was a lot of moisture in the air as it was throwing it down most of the time I was there. Wet streaks were forming above unfortunately and all this rain's gotta go somewhere so i wouldn't be surprised if it's gopping now.

As Dob says though, you just never know!

Didn't check Rubicon as I was drenched enough by then.

I did and it was BAD. Flooded beneath Kudos wall, 6-8" deep under Caviar and more coming in during the afternoon. Nearly sloshing o'er t'welly top on t'way out. I have a pic - hang on...

Good effort for having a look.  I was decorating at home and had to drop my car in chapel and run back in the most torrential rain and hail. It went really cold yesterday afternoon too.

Wonder what the Tor is like today... I might pop out later.

Too right. I was struggling to stay warm between attempts in a t-shirt and warmish jacket. Didn't expect it to be nearly 10 degrees colder than a week ago. Would have been perfect conditions if only it had stopped fucking raining / thundering etc.

It's been dry all morning over here and there's a breeze so any runoff might have dried out.

Did it rain much Rubicon way over the weekend and did anyone visit Crag X? Been away (Brighton, shocking weather) so no idea if it's likely to be a write off or worth a look for a session tomorrow.  :-\

Cheers for the info. Don't think I'm gonna have time for an exploratory look now anyway unfortunately.  >:(

Forecast looks ok for the next few days though..........

Mint on Saturday morning. Bit hot by the time the sun got round but unflooded. Sticky, but not actually wet.

Still no flooding last night. All rocks dry, rather muddy and sticky underfoot round by Caviar. Kudos totally bone - too hot if anything. Tops off weather in late October. Whatever next?

(sausages and custard all round!)
