Carrock: fast drying/perma dry bits?
November 23, 2019, 07:38:35 pm
On hols 15 min away from carrock - and despite it not raining after about 1 and there being a gentle easterly - the air seems so damp most stuff looked wet about 3:30 today. I’m not that confident anything will dry for tomorrow morning - but where are the bits that are first to be dry? Or any perma/fairly often dry bits?

I’d have assumed most dries fast - esp the isolated boulders that take no runoff. But even those were plastered with wet over the tops...

Clutching at straws etc...

Eden Rock? Pretty nice setting there. You could get a signed beastmaker for ScrapeScroat.

I've only been half a dozen times but the Knight Rider block seems to dry very quickly, as does The Prow. Both face south so get sun through the morning, and are fairly exposed being higher up the slope.

Thread resurrection!
I'm down in the Lakes for a week from next Friday. How grim is the backen at Carrock at the moment? I've got unfinished business on Sing a Rainbow from the last holiday down there but fear the approach could be horrible at this time of year.

No, down near Coniston with the in-laws. Carrock Fell isn't exactly the most local venue to where we'll be but I'm just lining up all my options.
