Weights training 4 Fingers?????

cos im not able to go to a wall at the moment (or do any sort of climbing at all for that matter) ive taken to goin' down the weights gym. :(

today i tried some finger rolls with a dumbell (i think thats wot theyre called) and it got me really pumped.

(it also got me a few dodgy looks as i was sitting, facing the wall, with my hand by my crotch, making 'puffing' noises! )

does anyone else use these? and are they any good for climbing?

I read about those things in Eric Horsts training for climbing and he seemed to advocate them, although im not sure how great the book is really, by that point i was very bored and didnt read on...

Find a sturdy rafter, door frame etc.  Screw on a nice finger friendly rounded off wooden edge and start hanging off it, prefereably one handed.  Add weights if you like.  Lots of climbing specific strength training, and no gym fees. Instead you can spend the money on a personal trainer (i.e. me).
