Where's that CAMRA website I slagged you off about Dave (Campaign for Real Apostrophes or something).  I manage to apply the rules consistently but I keep remembering the ownership one (when the last letter is not an s) the wrong way around.

Not to get too pedantic, but isn't it correct usage of an apostrophe when a word or phrase has been abbreviated :?:

Grey area I think, but general feeling is no apostrophe.
PAHs and PCBs in your reports if you don't mind......

IHMO, treat it like any other word (i.e. no apostrophe for plurals, use apostrophe for possesives)

e.g:

I bought 2 DVDs last weekend.

One DVD's case was cracked.

Actually, having written that second sentence I'm not so sure but my geeky grammato-pedant brain won't let me change it.

they can be used when theres been some letters ommited, like in don't
, can't. so if you were going to apply that to DVD it would be D'V'D', thus D'V'D''S which is cleary bollocks. since DVD is an abreviation of initials generally used as a word in its own right, so you just treat it like any other word.
