BMW have an equivalent diesel technology to "Pump Deuce" (PD) dubbed "Common Rail" for their fast diesels
So has a Ford Focus.....
Common Rail is the trademark term which is the system by Bosch and most (Ford, BMW, GM, Daimler-Chrysler etc.) use this system which pre-pressurises the fuel to around 22,000 bar. The Pump Duse system is VW's own and it runs at around 33,000 bar. As far as I'm aware the VW PD engine kick ass epecially if you get the 1.9 130-150PS(1 bhp ~ 1.01 PS) models. The new 2.0 are just bigger as far as I'm aware (140PS). What you really want is a A4 quattro Avant with the 2.5 V6 TDi - beasty.
But this is really for people that can't afford a Metro.
