Photo scanning in Sheffield

(1/2) > >>

James Malloch:
Unfortunately my dad passed away last week and we are now sorting everything out for his funeral in 2 weeks time.

We’re currently staying in Sheffield whilst our attic conversion is going on. So don't have access to our Laptop/Scanner which we left up there.

Can anyone recommend anywhere in Sheffield that could scan around 30 photos (varying sizes and ages) for us and upload onto a USB for use at the funeral? Ideally they could make them all a standard size too.

If they could also download photos from an XD card (not SD) that would be even better.

We are staying in Crookes, but can go wherever is needed in the city.

Also, thanks for the advice and messages in my thread about his health, and his ultimate cancer diagnosis. It’s been a weird few weeks and whilst it’s hugely sad and I’m totally gutted, my brain is just thinking of all the nice times we had together which has made it weirdly nice at the same time…

My deepest condolences James. Losing a parent is a profound, disorienting experience. I'm glad you are still able to access the good memories and feelings.

SA Chris:
Sorry to hear the news James, this seems a lot sooner than I had hoped. If they are just small photos, with the right light and some post processing you can take reasonable shots of old photos with a phone, that's what we did for my brother's.

Thanks, Ben. They do offer that service, but I randomly messaged a photographer (John Anderson Photography) too who kindly set up his computer for me last night and I managed to get everything scanned. So all set now 🙂
