Options for sports trip post elbow surgery in France

(1/1)

Aussiegav:
12 days post elbow surgery and I’m looking for a 4-5day sport climbing in the grade 5 -6b range in France around June or September.
The main purpose of the trip is treating myself with some easy memorable climbing where I can get there easily, test out the elbow. Nothing steep or compressed. More on the feet rather than the arms. Having some Sun and enjoying the French lifestyle.

Looking through my guides two places come to mind. Sisteron & Sainte Victoire.
Has anyone been to either areas? Would they fit the bill?
What are the accommodation options and most efficient ways to get there.

Hoping people could share their experiences and advice on this.

If anyone has local (UK) options that fit this, feel free to chip in.

webbo:
I’ve climbed at both but 30 plus years ago. Sainte Victoire used to be notorious for big run outs above dodgy fixed gear which might have changed by now. I remember it being crimpy and pumpy as hell. I did Sisteron on a comeback and  only did shortish stuff on the steep side.

I could probably have written the same post as Webbo. Dentelles de Montmirail might have so,e nice routes at a suitable grade and angle. La Loubière has some long lines and Buoux has some great slab routes. You’d have t do some research, my info is out of date now.

Fiend:
Try to go much earlier i.e. before easter and go to La Pedriza  :2thumbsup:

On the other channel; someone suggested Ailefroide.

Which does sound amazing
