Portland 5-6/11.

Evening all.

Was supposed to be in Font Wed, but the weather is looking awful, same with the rest of the UK. Only glimmer of hope is Portland seems dry Tuesday and Wednesday. I've done a fair bit of sport down there, but looking to boulder. Is anyone local or have any beta as to if it's worth going. We are in the South East .

Ross Barker:
It's definitely no Fontainebleau but there is plenty on the isle, and much of it is decent. You can definitely have a good time. Most things dry obscenely quickly so you can get a lot in between passing showers.

chriss:
Thanks for the reply.

Thought it would be worth a punt. I've woken up with snow & belayed in shorts in the same day down there.

There is definitely enough for a couple of good days out.
We were only at the Cuttings but enjoyed it, despite the heat
Always meant to go back when it was cooler.

csl:
Promontory Roof is genuinely good (by UK limestone standards), The Hidden Wall (V3/4) nearby is good too, Cuttings is all a bit scrappy but some reasonable stuff to be found (lightning strike + southern soul are both nice enough)
