Uphill shunting

(1/1)

Duma:
Might have a look this evening, how accessible are the routes from above? And how easy to work out where the routes are?

Duncan?

fammer:
Very easy to access from above, lots of stakes at the top. Easy to work out whats what if you're on one of the routes that you can actually find a topo for, maybe less easy if you're going off ukc descriptions. Jimi Hendrix quite easy to work out if that's what you're going for (recommended).

duncan:
As fammer says, an excellent venue for shunting and very easy to orientate yourself. You can access the top of the crag via a path up the easy angle rocks right of Gateway Buttress.

There are superb council provided in-situ stake/bolts along the top about 6-8m back on the Yellow Wall (Jimi etc). The Multicoloured wall has conventional bolt belays at the top and the Pedestal face has bolt belays at the top of the pedestal to rebelay too.

There are sharp edges at the top of some routes but the routes themselves are mostly free of hazards. It's quarried limestone so there is some loose rock.

Duma:
thanks gents!
