Power Club 688 13th - 19th March

M - TCA, 90 min, whites (6B+ to 7A). Did a couple more downstairs and all the upstairs ones. 17 problems, flashed 12, 3 quickly, 1 after a fair bit of effort, 1 didn't manage first move.
T - TCA, 90 min, finished the whites, 5 problems, 2 flashed, 1 quickly, 1 I didn't manage yesterday, and one I didn't manage last week but had been tweaked to be more reasonable afterwards. Then some fun volume wrestling on the comp wall, 6 problems up to about 7A.
W - brief run to get car, 3km hilly.
T - TCA, 90 min. Realised I'd missed a white, turns out it's at least 3 grades too hard for this circuit, didn't do first or second move. Sacked it off quickly. Moved on to trying blues (mid 7's) and blacks (low 7's) I'd not managed. Only one tick, but lots of moves done
F -
S - UCR 1hr, circuits. 6b+, 5 mins, 7a+, 10+ mins, 7c, 10+ mins, 7c, 5 mins, 7c. Would have tried again with three mins but the wall shut.
S - couple of hours walking with daughter

Monday -
3x 90% hangs. BW plus 12.5kg. Half crimp
3x 90% hangs. BW plus 17.5kg. Open hand
3x 7sec hangs 8mm micros. Feet on chair

Tuesday
Depot after work
2x 20min project sets. New purple circuit
Did the first second go. So moved to another. Did in 15 mins
The next one I fell off the last move at the end of the 20min block.
Wrist felt a bit tweaked at the end.

Skin worn and very sweaty tonight.

Bailed half way into the fingerboard warm. Just felt weak and tired

M. Morning run. Home board session. Did some good problems. A few felt pretty hard.

T. Moon board with Will. Normally hate the style of board but had a good session. Nice to have a social climb for a change.

S. 7 mile walk/run. Then Boulder UK in the afternoon. First time there and really liked the style. A bit more basic than a lot of styles.

M - Legs conditioning: squats, frogs, heel-raises. Walked 9km.
T - Fingerboard pick-ups 18mm edge to 40kg. Shoulder conditioning: side planks, handstands, press-ups. Legs conditioning: squats, heel-raises. Walked 12km.
W - Legs conditioning. Walked 9km.
T - Westway brief session on the autobelays, 4 routes to 5+. Elbow OK. Shoulders conditioning. Walked 9km.
F - Fingerboard pick-ups with left hand 18mm edge to 40kg. Shoulder conditioning: side planks,handstands, press-ups. Legs conditioning: squats, heel-raises. Walked 12km. Upped the reps. of the shoulder/elbow work but overcooked things a bit, very tired and my (right) elbow was sore.
S - Walked 9km. Tired.
S - Westway brief session on the autobelays, 6 routes to 6a. Elbow OK.

Elbow up and down but, overall, recovering.

Off to Catalonia on Tuesday. My partner for Wednesday to Saturday has cancelled as her van needs work and she's stuck further north. Anyone in the Siurana/Margalef area needing an attentive belayer? I wouldn't mind doing a little bit of very gentle climbing too but will be very much easing myself back into things.

M: Set the board and did a few climbs, psyched.

T: Hollow body holds, max 45s. Board. Set warm-ups and boulders up to board-V6

T: Board sesh with mates. Good crew, good sesh. Loads more boulders went up including the first board-V7, couldn't do it myself. Managed to do bottom to top in two moves though - psyched.

S: Mitchell Creek Canyon. Warmed and did Overreacting, a crimpy V7 fairly quickly. Took a bit longer to work out and do Mobile Morgue V7. Worked and did the two linking moves from the V9 sit quickly but called it a day after it started hurting my fingers a bit to go home and watch the rugby.


S: Hollow body holds, max 50s. 2 mile walk round dog park. Shoulder press, bicep curl, chest press, lateral raise

T - Moonboard session. Felt pretty weak but did manage a 7A+ on basic crimps in a handful of goes.

T - garage board. Feeling weak again. Perhaps due to warmth/hurried warm up/general tiredness.

Mon - AM as usual. PM ab wheel, back work, thruster. Tired, short on time.
Tue - BM pockets + 2 kg. Board climbing, current project first half. Forearms tired. Back work.
Wed - good mornings, bentover rows. Bar work.
Thu - boxing bag. Tabatas.
Fri - walking, ab wheel, planks, push ups.
Sat - walking, ab wheel, push ups, lunges. Sun - walking, thruster.

T. Ansteys with James K. Lots of wetness. Top half of Cider Soak wet and too sunny to work anyway. Traversed to have a look at Sanctuary Wall, belayed James and took dogs for a walk

W. Weighted deadhangs and pull-ups on campus rung culminating in +30kg FC and HC  6 and 7 secs +32.5kg Drag 8secs. Probably a PB

T: Fingerboard Session (first in a while) - BM1000 - 5C and 6B workouts.

S: Purples @ Depot - Flashed a few, failed on a few, worked a few... Nice!
