Yo Fatneck and others. What are the best sites for finding gigs and club nights (other than RA for the latter)?? Tried Bandsintown and it seemed a bit limited. Same with Songkick....

Bottled Author And Punisher tonight, partly cos it was a lone wolf thing but mostly because my tummy has been delicate most of the day (a rarity at the mo) and I was too drained. Then again he's on in Sheff tomorrow....

Just got tickets to go and see The Beth's in Liverpool in July which I'm pretty psyched about!

Got a busy week coming up at the beginning of May - Shonen Knife in Bristol on the Saturday, Colin Stetson in Leeds on the Tuesday and then Otoboke Beaver in Manchester on the Thursday.

Also hoping Kristin Hersch may tour again this year - there is a new album coming out later this year (I think it is a solo album this time) so there is hope. She was amazing as ever when I saw her twice last year - once in full electric mode and then acoustic a few days later) but I must confess to being an utter fanboy.

Have you tried Twicketts or may their Facebook fan pages? Fan to fan so you don't pay over the odds.

I was trying to remember the name of Twicketts. I dunno the price on Ticketmaster seemed to be the same as the face value price so just bought via there. A few days ago the only tickets available seemed to be on reseller sites and twice as much. Presumably there’s an option with Ticketmaster where you can sell back to them if you decide you can’t go?

Went to see Brigid Mae Power and Steve Gunn at St Pancras Old Church last night. Both of them were so great. She has a voice like Anne Briggs and Sandy Denny. Gunn just gets better and better each time I’ve seen him play. A solo performance on acoustic guitar with some effects pedals and his beautiful voice. If they’re playing near you go see.
