Did this happen? Clicked into the link and there wasn’t anything going on as far as I could see.

Had an email from Dave Turnbull last night saying they had some technical issues.

Quote
…apologies to anyone who tried dialling in tonight, we’re having to reschedule, technical issue which Alvin spent 20 mins trying to resolve, something to do with the way the session was set up 2 weeks ago, also unable to advise viewers of the problem, all very frustrating.

  • More average than you
    • Some poor pictures
Just happened, but it was slightly clunky - Dave T was more or less talking into a darkened room. Short presentation followed by Q&A …except he couldn’t see any of the comments, and was relying on people texting him screenshots. I wanted to ask about initiatives to promote best practices amongst climbers new to the outdoors and getting the BMC better known.

They promised to try again and do it better. 5/10

Also any publicising they did of the change of time/date didn’t float across my screen

Getting in was OK for us. Attendance fluctuated mainly between 20 and 30 but a few may have had more than one person on a device, like us.

I'd add the smaller meetings for key access volunteers has been working very well: in getting people to know those in other areas, sharing problems and solutions and good practice; talks and Q &A with major stakeholders, like NPs and NT.

I wanted to ask about initiatives to promote best practices amongst climbers new to the outdoors and getting the BMC better known.

I think these are very important issues (I'd add better awareness of the internal charites...so people donate more... and the specialist commitees),  but they are getting across (certainly in Council) but there has been a lot of congestion with staff turnover, new structures and urgent work post covid.
