I remember watching the tv recording of Leeds '89 (when Moffat won). Isabelle was climbing and Bonnington (who was commentating) could hardly contain himself. He mentioned a spot of chalk on the face, saying it was like make-up, he sounded like a dirty ol'man. Amusing.

Don't think it was Bonners - wasn't it Jim Curran?

Graeme - you are a legend. However, I will not try to defend you when Airlie smashes your back doors in with her size nines!

It would have been awful if Graeme had been implying that the lady in the Olympic Power Spot picture reminded him of Airlie. Obviously his question was in the context of wondering what a fit-bird-who-used-to-be-prominent-in-climbing was up to now. I'm sure she is as talkative as ever and is wearing the years as well as Isabelle (who is actually not doing bad for 40).  :ang:

Both of them commentated, along with Ian McNaught Davis. All the indoor competition climbing specialists together, with exchanges, during the women's comp along the lines of: "nice to watch climbing, and nice to look at too!"

Spot quiz: what was Bonnie Masson's competitor's number?

The only way anyone could remember that is if it was something vaguely amusing, like 69?  ;)

Airlie's prowess as a pugilist is vastly over-rated in my opinion, and I do have some experience in this matter. I reckon that either a) Gav has a glass jaw, or b) Airlie decking Gav is an urban myth, or c) Boyley had just bought a round and Gav was already fainting just as Airlie connected.

Ps its been pissing down in Font and I am very, very bored  :alky:

True. But she was never scared to use weapons and seeing as you've called her fat and weak in one thread you probably should be at least mildly concerned.  ;)

I reckon that either a) Gav has a glass jaw, or b) Airlie decking Gav is an urban myth, or c) Boyley had just bought a round and Gav was already fainting just as Airlie connected.

I'm going for a) but b) and c) are equally feasible as Rob says.

I can remember her being dragged out of the foundry by Reeve for not paying. Its one of the few times I have heard anyone utter the immortal 'dont you know who I am' line.

do you remember the lower tier 'catastrophe' sessions we had andy?, I still fondly recall spotting isabelle on 'slippery jim' - a clash of cultures indeed, and proof that 'red and green should never be seen', although the views were outstanding

I was in the Broadie with Gav when Airlie lamped him .. he was giving her jip about headpointing that Nick Dixon route by the Cromlech bridge (Beginners Mind?).  Something like 'It cannae be that f*ckin hard if you did it' and she landed a cracking right hook. Oh happy days....

taking photos of everything and all that...

However, my mate's use of the camera leaves little doubt as to where his interests lie.

So we can take it that your mate isn't gay then? Unless your mate is a girl of course...

Is anyone else a little disturbed by the dirty old man laughter?

That'll be the delighted giggling of a man not used to the outdoors having his first go on a camera with a big zoom. He is appreciating the full irony of his actions (I think).
