Yes it was the Newbury protest. Went down with FBSF, Zippy, Patta, Andy and some others, to help rig ropeways between trees so the protesters could move about between trees at speed. Very scary in retrospect, crossing twixt trees high above ground with one strand of polyprop for hands and one for feet, attached to branches of unknown strength with random gypsy knots, tied by god knows who!
Turned up quite late at the camp (which was a very marshy patch of carr woodland)in a pissing rainstorm, having been to the pub till chuck-out. Everyone except me and Crome managed to find some sort of a dry doss for the night. We ended up having to tie a rope that was hanging from a treehouse off to the base of another tree, pull a tarp over the top and put a pallet down 'inside'. Then spent the night fruitlessly trying to avoid getting mud on Mark Turnbull's sleeping bag which I had borrowed without permission (not advisable, if you know Mark!). Our fitfull slumber was interupted at first light by a cacophony of horns, drums, howls etc, as the protester thought the police where raiding the camp. Turned out they weren't, but not before everyone had hurriedly de-camped and legged it up the trees.

Remembered the name of the camp now, it was Rickety Bridge. Googled for some pics

Reminds of the part in the John Belushi film 1942 when a Ferris wheel frees itself from it's moorings (? Is there a Ferris wheel-builder in the house who knows the correct name for its er, moorings?) and crushes everything in it's path.

I wish I had a cooler pic, but all I've got is a man unloading a camel, Turkenistan-style...

After being inspired by the awesome pic from the Shit isn't that.... thread. Good work CLM my friend!

I thought I'd post my pics from doing the same thing. Basically, you relax your face and shake your head wildly from side to side whilst someone takes a photo. Here are the results from my house party the other night.
