Nice pics slackers. e went on a boat trip round the summer isles, and I discovered taking seal pics with a 400mm lens in a rocking boat is a bit tricky.

Cheers, should probably have stuck them in the Wildlife thread really.

Was quite calm around the Farne Islands as they're pretty sheltered, could really do with a bit more focal length as the longest zoom I had was 300mm. Opted to shoot on shutter priority to counter movement.

Not mine I'm afraid, caption on the Guardian site says it was taken by a 13yr old boy who used his tripod to lift his camera into the trees and the birds edged closer just as the timer went off.

Not sure if this should go in the iPlayer thread, but watched it last night, and the photos this guy takes are brilliant, especially going up onto the unpronounceable volcano when it was erupting.

Was being lazy as I was on my phone and couldn't be arsed typing fiddly shit.

Most of the key info on the lens' is all stored in the Exif data that is viewable by clicking on the "D90" link on the pictures Flickr page, but I was using two lenses, a Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G VR and a 70-300mm f/4-5.6.
