I went to the exhibit in the museum and agree there are some brilliant photos. I was a bit disappointed by the winner this year though. Not that i think its a bad photo, it just seems very predictable and I didn't find it inspiring or moving. But then I don't know much about photography so maybe it is a stunner. Here it is:

Agree, the winning photo was a bit odd I didn't like it at all.

I guess they chose it on technical grounds or something.

Found this cool pic of my parent's house, at the beginning of '900. It still shows the old gate that was in front of my bedroom, that - at the time - was a wine tavern. People would eat and drink on the windowsill, helped by a small step. On the wall on both sides of the window, there are still - barely visible - some pencil written bills from 1919!

Amazing collection of astronomy pictures for the annual astronomy photographer of the year competition. Unusually I actually agree with the winner (about 8 photos down). The tilt shift effect on the Andromeda Galaxy is incredible, makes the it look really tactile. Enjoy.
