Knightstone Island is at the northern end of Weston-super-mare's promenade. Amongst more broken rocks there is a wall of compact sea-washed limestone looking out over Weston bay and Brean Down. I scrambled around here in the 1970s like many others, climbed problems on the compact wall in 1983, and revisited it last summer. Since then Sue Hazel has added more problems and written
a mini-guide. It's local interest and has nothing remotely difficult but on a sunny evening with the right tide it's a very pleasant spot and a useful addition to the Toll Road crags.
No idea about access officially but kids and fishermen have scrambled here for centuries. However it is all very public, so behave yourself.
