I'm curious to know what motivates people to clock up thousands of posts on here?

I guess there's no shame in it, everyone wants a voice. It seems needy though?

Yeah definitely the pay per post scheme for me. The graduated pay bands work well, as does the annual bonus for winding up newbies.

Maybe the number of posts is just a function of having been on UKB for a long time?  I've racked up 2600+ posts, but that's over 16.5 years...so hardly prolific - just a symptom of being slightly bored every couple of days.

Ah newbies, always worth a wind up. When does one become an old hand? 1000 posts?

Wonder how many posts you've racked up across all your different accounts Dan?

50? I'm not sure I've got the endurance for that. It's incredible that some people can stay motivated 1000's of times

I haven't got any real friends. Sometimes I need to be listened to.

I can't afford to go private and there is an ongoing dispute about whether my rehabilitation should be paid for by the NHS or by Social Services.
I can't be expected to take responsibility for my own wellbeing, obviously.

try to enjoy your bouldering for your own sake, maybe your 8000 posts are a result of not being taken seriously as a child. You are worth it

What motivates people to troll? Being a wanker? Low self esteem? Seems a bit needy tbh.

I'm just a bit over half as needy as Lagers, so I'm feeling pretty good about myself tonight.

This might be true, but...
Your opinions only count if you have made >5000 posts.

I need another 0.773 of a post to keep up my 1.773 posts per day average.
How do you make a fraction of a post?

I am concerned by the misuse of the term "need"

"need" implies necessity (for sustaining life, generally)

We should adopt the term "wanty" for when people are seen to desire attention.

This should be seen as entirely different to "wanky", despite common typo errors that suggest equivalence.

I'm actually kind of surprised that I've posted more than moose, and most as much as Pete.

I must be almost as needy as Dan.

Wanty.

You are concerned about being as wanty as "Dan"
