My daughter (almost 17) has expressed an interest in Triathlons. DShe has been using my wifes Mountain bike and wants to get a hybrid bike but not a road bike. She anticipates will typicalIy riding 20km once or twice a week on the bike. She says she's not fussed about brake type but would prefer a rigid fork. Shes around 166cm tall and has been recommended a 52cm frame. Budget is under £400. Grateful for some recommendations as I know nothing about bikes.

These are some bikes she's looked at:

In particular she thinks this reconditioned one looks really good:

Asking for a friend eh Shark?

Fess up, the dark side has called you hasn’t it? 🚴

😁

If she’s planning on doing triathlons she needs a road bike. However these are a bit thin on the ground due to everyone taking up cycling in the current situation. She would be best with a female specific something live Giant Liv.
I think hybrids are the work of the devil.

DAVETHOMAS90:
Shark,

why not a road bike?

I know a couple of people who thought they'd go with a hybrid, and then very soon wanted to upgrade to something better.

I don't know what's open at the moment, but Evan's, Decathlon, JE James etc generally let you try a range of bikes out.

Something like this would be ideal
