Raven Tor road closure
February 05, 2021, 03:11:09 pm
This has been publicised in various places on Facebook but the message hasn’t quite reached everybody it seems so thought I’d post here too.

The road closure for Millers Dale from the Anglers Rest onwards started on Monday and is for 3 weeks and applies Mon- Fri during daylight hours in order that the National Trust can fell ash dieback affected trees.

I timed the walk in to Raven Tor carrying 3 pads from the Millers Dale Station car park back along the Monsal trail to drop down to the footbridge at the far end of the crag arriving in 20 minutes. By finishing after sunset I was able to retrieve the pads by car.

If you do go midweek during daylight hours and somebody parks up please encourage them to park elsewhere and walk back in for the sake of continued good relations within landowner (NT).

If felling is actually taking place in the vicinity the crag then obviously give the place a swerve entirely.

The crag is currently sopping. Even the crux holds on Bens are sub optimal.
