I don’t think the Aleon are particularly wider than any other other 5.10 I own, but the toe box is a completely different shape to anything else which is taking a bit of getting used to.
New Adidas sizing applies, but if you’ve got Crawe you already know about this
Thanks Imelda
The Aleons have just arrived. Initial impressions is that not only do they look the same but there is so little difference between them and the Crawe that I’m surprised 5.10 has both in their line up. The toe has a slightly more pointy profile and is more downturned and the heel is narrower. The pointy profile means my little toes are more crimped in the Aleon but that may be because they aren’t worn in. I’ll be keeping them so will update.
My rationale for keeping them is that they will be a replacement for the Crawes as they wear out. As the Aleons wear out I’ll know which I prefer.
Somewhere in Addidas’ extensive marketing operation - the person behind the “make similar but slightly different shoes so punters buy both” strategy is doing socially distanced fist bumps and high fives with their colleagues having read you post. :D
Unparellel seem to have built their entire business in this model, the amount of Dow turned shoes they offer is bewildering!
