Nicks Problem - Red wall
October 12, 2004, 10:39:26 pm
Have had two failed attempts on Nicks Problem on Red Wall, I hold the tiny pocket with my left the crimp below it with my right then try to dyno for the top with my left.  Anyone got any beta on the problem?

Cheers,

Bubba

Get your right foot high in the break and rock up (more like "udge" up) and lay it on to the sloper with your right hand.

Greg will probably be along soon to tell you to casually static it while you're warming up  :8), befolre casually staticing the harder versions!

Ah so I've given you the beta before eh Neil? :D

Seriously though:
Controlled momentum is the key, as the top is ok if you dont hit it to out of control  :oldgit:

Funny problem this one I've seen some really good climbers have a right hard time on it.

The difference for me was putting my right foot on a slightly lower foothold which wasn't as good as the high one, but it didn't push me off as much when I went for the break so I was more controlled.  Took me a lot of attempts to do this.

Don't worry Squeek, it took Mr Parry a lot of attempts to do this aswell!    To be fair he pissed everything else.
