Wall anchors for Beastmaker 2000
October 02, 2020, 02:32:56 pm
Due to a lack of appropriate door frames in our current house, I'm going to have to demount the Beastmaker 2000 from its MDF board designed to go on to one of those temporary pullup bars. Instead, there is a 2 course brick band across the rear garage door lintel. The bricks look to be made of concrete and rather dense and I plan to affix a small ply or mdf mount board to them before affixing the Beastmaker to that.

It's been a good while since I've wall mounted anything that will take a significant load and wondered if anybody could recommend me some suitable anchors from Screwfix or Toolstation?

Im not an engineer/builder so take this with a pinch of salt.

I've used these for attaching a woody to a concrete block wall before and they seem to do the job well. Hard to imagine being able to pull a fingerboard off if you attached it with 4 of these.

Ive abseiled with another person off 2 of those concrete screws (maybe alightly longer ones, id have to check) as a temporary fixing in limestone a few times, so I can imagine they would do the job. Worth borrowing a decent hammer drill if you dont have one. Worth noting you can over tighten them.

Thanks all. Found some 8mm Fischer long screws and plugs that look robust enough. Will trim down the old mount to fit and see how we go.

Absolutely loving living next door to Pex Hill now mate. My lanterns arrived today for extra evening sessions too. Keen!
