On a related note, given that La Lambla got mentioned in the newsletter, does anyone know what the bolts above Red or Dead are? I think there were brushed holds but no bolts last year and now there’s 2 or 3 bolts coming in from the left.

Ben Moon also did an old project on Upper Two Tier.

There had been some somewhat haphazard clearing of the yew tree which is what prompted me to check on UKC when up there a few months back. Very short, very nails by the looks of things.

BTW bumped into Chris Hardy of all people yesterday. He said that Police and Thieves and the Umpire at Dovedale had been retro bolted. Anyone know about this?

I can confirm they have been for at least a couple of months now, I walked past them then. The left hand one (old E4 6a) seemed to be only partially bolted at that time. The right hand one fully bolted. I think there's some new sport routes in the left hole too.

I know Rob Mirfin has done some new sport routes on the crag recently and rebolted the old sport route Follow the Bear, which is just left of P&T. No idea regards any retroing.
From what I recall, when I did P&T maybe 15 years ago the fairly crucial insitu peg was in a terrible state. Can't recall how replaceable or not it looked.

The news item gets a few things mixed up with regards to the route on Two Tier.
Lockdown aka the orange suntan project was first conceived 30 years ago by Chris Plant. Chris suggested Ben Moon try it. He did it and rebolted it after. Yew Tree Wall was bolted 20 years ago by some random punter who also pointed Ben at it.
Fifth Dimension on Nettle Buttress was the 3rd project Ben Moon did and it was this route that Ben Bransby was interested in.
