Embedding images in posts
April 05, 2020, 10:57:10 am
Gave up trying to embed images some time ago as couldn’t make it work with imgur presumably because they changed privacy settings (though seems to work for Tomtom)

What’s the easiest way to take an image from my phone and embed it in a post?

Thanks

I did this by opening an imgur image in another tab then copying the url and removing everything after .jpg. and put it in some img squares.

Like this but with img in the first bracket

[Im*]https://i.imgur.com/JOnjCjk_d.jpg[/img]

Edit - actually that must be a rubbish way of doing it and the picture is super low res.

Testing this version of the link in img squares. Think its higher quality. Still got the actual url by clicking the imgur image and opening in another tab.

This is the first picture I found on Imgur.

I’ve said it before but if you click the quote button on a post where someone’s done what you want to do you’ll see exactly how they did it.

To get an image’s location right-click on it and select “copy image location” or if you don’t have that option “open link in new tab” and copy the url out of the address bar of said tab. On an Android you hold down your finger on the image until the option to open in a new tab appears. On an IPhone or iPad do the same but select “Share”, then “copy” from the little pop up.

Thanks both. I’ll have a play around and report back

Immg.bb works well.

The embed codes are straight copy and paste.
You can set an individual albums privacy, so I set one up as public for forum posts.
