Calpe partner finding
November 26, 2023, 08:29:25 pm
Thinking of a trip out here in January, but  will be with a non climber. Has anyone had any luck getting people to climb with out there? Any tips or tricks? Keen to climb most of the time, but it looks like there are some via ferrats if there is a day or 2 with no partners.

I'm pretty chilled with what I get on, its all new, but looking to climb 6s and maybe redpoint the odd 7.

A friend has rented a place here (I'm currently in Calpe) until ~Mar and is popping in and out. I'll point him at the thread.

My Dad lived there during the winter until v recently. Pretty sure there’s a bar where all the Brit climbers hang out and where you may bump into Cav etc. Big FRCC contingent so I would have thought there’s plenty of ridge walking action (never heard much about Via Ferrata around Calpe? Definitely canyoning stuff though).

Musette Café? MVP rather than Cav this week

I think Jerry Peel opened a bar last year in one of the nearby villages.

If CC social media is representative, their next hut will be in Calpe! I'm sure there will be plenty of climbing Brit. boomers wintering there on their defined benefits pensions.

There’s a public “Calpe climbing” partner finding FB group which was started a year ago and has 240 members and is pretty active.

Booked for the 10th to the 24th of Jan if anyone else is out there at the same time and fancies a climb!
