Full body chain mail works best for me. There's also the added benefit of being ready for battle should the crusaders attack.

Its a pig to look after though - and I always end up smelling of WD40...

I read somewhere it was kept loosely packed in sand when when being transported on campaign. The scouring effect of being jogged around on the back of the packhorse kept  it nice 'n' shiny. At least for those wealthy enough to afford  packhorses (and sand).

I thought full chain mail was a prerequisite safety requirement for bouldering at Pex Hill anyway right?
