Hand surgeon Manchester

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good orthopaedic surgeon in Manchester area?

Damaged my hand by smashing it into masonry sticking out of a wall when running in the dark. Have seen a physio and it isn’t getting better so may need some really informed advice. Thanks.

Mike Hayton. Very good hand and wrist-only surgeon with active interest in climbing injuries but also boxing injuries (which yours sounds akin to). http://www.mikehayton.com

Thank you. Yes- I basically punched a piece of masonry pretty hard, invisible in the dark.

In case it’s of interest to anyone else, I saw Mike Hayton, seems to be very well regarded.
It also appears that you can bust a hole in the joint capsule and probably damage the sagittal band and have these things spontaneously repair given sufficient time.

Saw Jon Ostrovskis in Sheffield who said pretty similar things and has an excellent line in ultrasound scanning too. Well impressed by Jon, absolutely spot on in his assessment, can’t recommend him enough. Slightly more competitive fee structure than Mr Hayton too  :2thumbsup:

So just a question of waiting patiently for things to heal. And not punching stuff in the meantime.  :wall:

Thanks Mike, must seem pretty minor to you! (And in the big scheme of things, it is). Hope your recovery keeps on improving. That cliff you showed at the Seaside premiere looked awfully high.
