South Lakes in/after rain
July 19, 2019, 09:35:17 am
Going to the South Lakes this weekend but looks like it's raining there a lot today/tonight... any tips on best bets for where might avoid runoff/fast seepge, dry quickly, and - ideally - be shower proof for tomorrow?

Was thinking Woodwell might fit the bill? What about Virtual? Assume Lad Stones dries fairly quick so might be worth a punt on Sunday??

Any thoughts appreciated, thanks!

Assuming Woodwell isn't already seeping its generally dry in the rain in my limited experience/from what I've been told.

When I went to Virtual after a few weeks of dry weather there was a streak of water running off from above which I believe is always doing so which impacts Skynet and other things going through this I believe. I think this is from a pool of water above the wall?

I'm sure others will be able to give better insight, but thought I'd respond in case.

Bits of woodwell can gef Runoff. Trowbarrow is a good bet if it’s stopped as the Shelterstone can dry in 30 min or so - red wall will probably stay dry but aside from Gaskins 7A+ Shallow Grace is a polished training horror (imho).

Farelton will dry fairly fast and is exposed.

Looking to Kentmere will bits of little font remain dry? I’m no expert on the harder stuff there but some of it looks like it will..

It’s been reet throwing it down here in Manchester all morning so who knows!!!

I've previously arrived at Kentmere whilst it was chucking it down, waited an hour then had a full session. It's only the very top bits that get wet on lots of things. Tourniquet is perma dry on all but the top out unless you use a sequence involving a right toe high in the roof, which can be affected by run off.
