That info really helped decipher the options - have ordered impact driver and went for the 18 v 5 Ah battery as reckon will be better for future when add the portable fan.

I don't like those big batteries as they make the tools really heavy. Of course for the fan if you need to carry in it's good to only take one battery. But for example route setting we use the 1.5Ah batteries and one of them almost lasts a day and charges in 5 minutes, but instead you're lifting 300g less all day.

This hot spell has made me think it really would be nice to have a fan. Just had a quick look online and it looks like a Makita fan, battery and charger from Sceewfix would set me back nearly £300. Really?! That seems like an awful lot of money for a fan.
Are there any other cheaper brands or suppliers out there?

You must be looking at wrong fan. Just get this one with a battery and charger.

I bought a 'Pro Breeze' 16 inch portable fan a couple of years ago. It's not a work style fan so it's nowhere near as rugged and it's a bit bulky (although not that heavy), but it moves more air than any others i've seen, lasts around 3-4 hours on full power, it's very quiet at a sensible speed for sleeping, looks nicer in the house, and it cost arout 80 quid. After 2 years of fairly regular use and having dropped it on rock a few times it still works fine. I'd buy another if it broke.

I also bought a ProBreeze and it was the best fan I've owned - I now have one of the Ryobi ones and, whilst it's good, it's noticeably less powerful. I say 'was' because within four months it had developed a loose connection that made it a bit of a nightmare to use (had to wiggle the switch until it stayed on then very carefully not move it), and it stopped working completely after six months. When I got in touch they said that they couldn't repair it and were out of stock so gave me a full refund, so at least their customer service was good.

Any tips on corded fans?
ATM it's 30 degrees at the kilter board. I have installed sockets in the ceiling but no fan yet, preferably I want there to be a remote control so it doesn't need to go 24/7.

I got one with a 3ah battery, and it lasts nearly 3 hours on full power. Enough for most of my sessions.

Does anyone have any experience and recommendations for drying holds with leaf blowers?

I have a project at possibly the wettest crag in the Frankenjura, with crimps that even when dry are usually a bit greasy.

I have stanley batteries already, and they do a leaf blower but I'm wondering if I should finally delve into the world of Makita (or another?)

I've done it at coastal blocs a little and it can really make a difference.

It is also load though and I wouldn't want to do it everywhere.

I've only used the makita one though (I bought a knock off makita one on ebay for 30£)
