N Wales this weekend
April 26, 2019, 10:02:13 am
Decided to visit N Wales for a long weekend for the first time rather than go to font this year. Obviously storm Hannah has made that decision look pretty shit. Should we just give up and go indoors or is anything likely to survive the monsoon and be climable if the rain clears for a few hours? Cheers

That sucks. The coastal fringes (Lleyn) will dry the quickest, and presumably the cave should be okay given how dry it's been prior to the storm?

Get your slate on, it'll dry in an instant in the 40mph winds..

Might help depending on wind direction...

Good point, might decrease the force going through the RPs as well if a fall occurs...

Cave Saturday if you don’t mind gimps sitting under you on deckchairs. Sunday morning looks ok but not much in the hills will be dry. I wouldn’t bother.

I'd not bother based on that. Northumberland? Just like Font anyway.

Cheers all, we got an hour on the cromlech boulders between drying out and the rain coming back. I'm tempted to bail but not sure even Northumberland will be dry.

Head to the coasts. Dries quickest - no elevation related rainfall. Tremadog often dry when pissing in the pass. As others said Ysgo/Llyn also good options - though with the storm the sea might be a bit hairy outside of low tide at Ysgo.
