Cool quiz as ever, particularly the musical round.  :punk:

In the absence of many of the members of what's normally described as "the UKB Team", a squad including but not limited to Mark20, Bolehillbilly, Tb, HighRepute, Reeve,  205Chris & myself won. I was fucking psyched to be able to pluck the Gogarth coffee table book that I'd been eyeing all night from the prize stack.

I'm not sure if Kim, Ellie or Toby are on here. Hopefully one of them is and will post the slides!

Most embarrassing question outcome ever: Lynn and I both failed to recognise our own new route (albeit disguised by a retroclaim description of just the first half of the line from UKC logbooks). Otherwise fab fun despite the missing mimes.

For reference Oi Grimer! is a very nice E1 5b on the Grimoire block (hence the name) that we did in 2 pitches. The first pitch was, totally weirdly retro claimed as 'Who's Line is it Anyway?' by some dudes unaware we had cleaned and climbed it. There were rumours of a new scratch on our passion wagon (but we couldn't tell amongst all the others). Peak photographic regular Dazed Stimulant witnessed us cleaning the holds  so we had to really push it out beyond our normal limits of stretch (no ! the FA, not the turd at the base.... that was found there later). Filmmaker A Lister Leek didn't even reply to our query about a film of the ascent and subsequent events... this really depressed us. People just don't take new route efforts seriously these days.

Go climb it folks. Top bit might need a light brush first.

OK, hopefully this will work for starters...it might take me a bit to figure out how best to put up Toby's musical extravaganza.

Here's the on-the-table questions:

I knew the Black Rocks one but was puzzled by Oyster, just realised it was an obscure new boulder problem on the upper blocks (Docker's Oyster) which I did over the summer. :wall:

Link to Google slideshow of full quiz. You'll have to skip the music slides as I've not had a chance to edit in the relevant tracks.

No - not yet!

I’d like to try it, but was waiting for the usual UKB quiz massiv to pitch in, like they have in previous years.

Go on Will.  You kick things off....

I suspect, without looking, 90% of these are defined by obscure new boulder problems by Bonjoy and/or El Mocho...

Possibly, but Topaz and Green Crack are next to each other,  Strangler and Tower Face are next to each other, which leaves Tippler as an odd route on its own.

Ring Ouzel nesting sites from over the years. Full list on the back of the t-shirt if you have one. Well done Nai. In was obvious in the quiz because it was Kim's question and he said something about it being to do with the fa etc

Pretty sure it did exist - its labelled on the old maps. It was just on the left of the A623 down from the Wanted Inn,

The hydrology was apparently cocked up when they built that lake by that house on the other side of the road.

I always assumed that the mechanism must be the same as that causes whirlpool rising to ebb and flow.  Some sort of siphoning effect.
