Some young Scottish wad (where have we heard this before) called Maxmillian Milne (real name?) has put up a new 8B+

Nice one Max.

Shark - wasn’t this thread title already used to announce new arrivals* to the world?

Edit just checked and it was “future wad on the scene”

meh... Already in the non-quality vids...

Skinny kid pulls on small crimps to do hard problem...

Where's the suffering, the cellar sessions, the board work, the adult angst?

Honestly, for some reason its's entirely blah when some teenage wad does some xyz...  I've seen so many now who fade into obscurity that I just can't seem to care.  Maybe I'm now the old jaded guy now, but show me the the one who had to really work for it and I'll pay attention.

A couple of 10% beers in and i'm a bit jaded.

The vid is well done, and obv the kid is stoked (if you(max) are reading this, then I'm super stoked for you, and you should 100% stick with it.  The difference between a flash in the pan and a true wad is time and effort.  if you can keep up the effort you put into this, Kudos! ) The more you invest the more you gain!

This guy has been referenced a few times by Lattice' fb posts...if these on a training programme with them then I expect he's putting some effort in...

some background here, looks like his hardest ascents before this were a couple of 8a+'s done quickly.

From this post, of biblical proportions, are we to assume our Chris has seen the light? Nay, not merely seen but been elevated to it?
Is he now an antipodian messiah, north of the border?

Edit:
Actually, I’m not sure why I always assumed the “SA” stood for South African, possibly the Antipodian is misplaced...

It does stand for South African. And I'm not the messiah, I'm a very naughty boy.

I could film him training hard on the local bouldering wall, which is about the size of the average cellar. And as for adult angst, he's gone through enough shit as a kid already.

https://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/fp/news/local/aberdeen-climbing-champion-sets-sights-on-olympic-gold/

He's a really nice kid, super psyched, and really strong. And those holds are fucking minging. It's a fairly long term project of a few folk.

I thought that was Ace  :2thumbsup:

Thanks for posting. Captures the moment so well. Bon effort!

Some interesting subtitles appeared, like

"Yeah, that chance to dab of his it's not going well.."

and

"being game in a man's lap.. " took some deciphering.

This is class. Young guy getting out there and doing new really hard stuff in a place a lot of us won't have been to. This is exactly the kind of thing people should be raving about, regardless of whether he sticks with it or not. Well done Max.
