[For sale] Bouldering Climbing VHS videotapes
October 03, 2018, 04:22:33 pm
I'm selling these videotapes (VHS), they are used and video quality varies from tapes to tape:

Equilibrium 10£
One Summer Bouldering in the Peak 10£
Skinless Fingers 12£
Rampage (NTSC) 10£
Bleau 11£
HTTP.BLOC 10£
The real thing 10£
Under the sky above the sea + hard plastic 10£
Painted Spider 15£
Stone Love 10£
365 Dartmoor Bouldering 15£
Stone Monkey 10£
Stick it 10£
Frequent Flyer 10£ (NTSC)
Free Hueco! 10£

Masters of stone 1 10£
Masters of Stone 2 - Hard Rock 5£ (average video quality)
Masters of Stone 3 10£
Masters of Stone 4 - Pure Force 5£ (average video quality)
Masters of stone 5 10£

Video quality and audio are not perfect but the tapes are "watchable", they have some glitches.

Shipment costs depend from country and weigh. I'm in Italy.
1 tapes to England is about 11£.

I think you might be overestimating their value. Just a bit.

Is that how much they’re worth? I’m sat on a potential gold mine!

Five or ten years ago, maybe.
They start to get some value now, until someone publishes them on Youtube.

Not all.
However, I do not think they are on Youtube legally.

Still not worth much, however you dress them up.

Hi,
I'm looking for climbing/bouldering videos (on dvd, vhs,...).
If you would like to rid off old dvds or cassettes, send me a PM.
Currently I live in Italy so shipping must be to this country.
Regards,
R.

this is a pretty quick pyramid scheme!

All five currently on eBay for a total of £18.

Just noticed that SteepEdge doesn’t exist any more :wavecry: so the DVDs of some of these are probably of more value than before given there’s no source (that I know of at least) to legally download them. But VHS, come on.

None of my business really, but if I had given you any of those videos for free, out of generosity to a fellow climber (and wanting to reduce my own clutter!), I would be pissed-off at your trying to profit from them.  The done thing would be to donate them to another enthusiast and keep paying the goodwill forward.

No profit, it is just to cover expenses.
I bought the tapes on ebay, some I cleaned because they were dusty (Isopropyl alcohol costs a lot), replaced crappy tape boxes. If you do not clean rent/borrowed/pre-owned tapes, you will get your VCR full of dust and mold. Heads become dirty.

I know that shipping costs a lot from Italy to England (and viceversa).

Are the more expensive cassettes the ones where you had to rewind them before viewing?  I used to hate it when people returned tapes to me without rewinding them.... around 15 years ago.

By the way, do you want a buy a bottle of my piss for £10? It might seem a lot but the price is based on the cost of the gin I drank to produce it.

This place is a very unwelcoming one.

Yeah, it is mostly like that. I like your commitment to VHS tapes, can’t beat a bit of 80’s nostalgia. I’ve still got one summer, hard grit, best forgotten art and some masters of stone vids I’d never part with.

It's not really unwelcoming , it's just apparent from your forum name the main reason you came here was to tout your wares?

2 pages and nobody has made a joke about having to return some video tapes. UKB, and Monolith in particular, have let themselves down badly.
