fingaz,

basically it's an editorial term that means:

"I'm quoting this person's words but they have made an error which I noticed and either can't be bothered to correct or am leaving in the quote for reasons of authenticity, comedy and humiliation"

Anyway, back on vacuum cleaners - we inherited one of the bigger dysons when we moved into this house, and its shit. So I think there might be summat wrong with it. has anyone ever taken one apart? are the 'non-user serviceable parts' warnings to be heeded?

If your any good at DIY, stripping down a vacuum cleaner is the easiest thing in the world. Suction loss is normally down to a blockage in the pipe somewhere or a clogged up filter. It can be other things as well tho
