WebSite Authoring Software

Just wondering what packages people use for authoring their web sites.  I actually might start doing mine properly and want to use a good one.  It'll just be a simple personal web site, with maybe a coppermine gallery on it.

I've tried Dreamweaver, and Frontpage Express, but wasn't impressed with either and ended up just doing in HTML in the end to just get something up there when I was applying for jobs.

Any recommendations?

I use Dreamweaver primarily as a site organiser/editor - I don't use it as a design tool at all. It's a good editor with it's code completion, etc and the split pane preview thingy is nice.

If you can write html then you're better off hand coding stuff anyway. Don't touch Frontpage with a bargepole.

Free editors like Crimson are great, and Ultraedit is excellent too.
