When I got rid of my Impreza turbo and bought a nice, sensible Golf TDi I breathed a sigh of relief, thinking that I wouldn't have to worry any more about masked men with bats demanding my keys in the middle of the night.

No such luck, Bubba - I get a letter from the S. Yorks police this morning saying to watch out because the number of breakins to get keys in my area is on the up and the most targeted vehicle is......yep, you guessed it

"VW Golf TDi motor vehicles have been those most targeted by offenders"

Great

The criminals must not be able to afford the spiralling petrol costs any more.

that happened to me - my first car, saxo vtr (nice). nicked the car keys. and the removable stereo that was next to my car keys. sweet. and then Tescos insurance decided to whip off £500 (after i'd had it a month) and then decide to take the rest of my monthly payments up front - all £1200. even nicer. Leaving me with £3300 to buy a £5000 car.

I've just put two security lights up, and am getting an upgraded alarm done on friday, so that should sort it. Could do without the expense of an alarm but as your experience shows, it's all cheaper than a claim and the associated premium hike

It's great! I really like it - not got the same awesome traction coming out of bends as the scoob, and not got the top end but hey, I can live with that.  My average speed over the last 4000 miles is about 31mph, so what's the point of having a 150mph car?

How many BHP is your TDi?

Used to spot your Scooby on M1 easily before but not now as there is too many Golf on it.

Not had it dynoed but the Revo remap should be giving 180bhp and 280ft/lbs.

Feels about right - the torque is immense now.

Yeah, TDi's are common as muck   :)

Hmm cool - have you had it REVO'ed or previous owner done it?

Thinking of doing it on my Cupra.

I got it done at JBS in Chesterfield. They seem sound and were recommended as the best VAG tuners around here.

If only it was so easy to get mine up to 200+ bhp (3k supercharger needed for that) should be getting cold air infeed pipe (induction kit) soonish which should give me another 7/8 bhp. A £300 remap would get me an extra 4 bhp maybe so not bothering with that unless I get the supercharger.

Avoiding - you'd be correct.
Squeek - I was originally after the hks super drager which is a bigger exhaust (& straight exit) but could only get hands on a hks hi-power (angled exit) as both of these were discontinued a long time ago (preffered look of straight exit but bigger power gain on hi-power)
Percy -
