SOC Training plan for FOAM
September 14, 2004, 01:42:51 pm
Seen as we've all got training obsessed of late, and for the benefit of Fingers, why don't we take advantage of having a V15 climber in our ranks and ask Si O' how and where he trains to get so strong for his hard sends... or is it all down to eating copious amouts of porridge  :D

Also how do you phsyche yourself up for doing a V15 15 feet above fridge size boulders without a mat? Thats fierce!!  Is this part of your training regime? Do you tight rope walk over a pool of sharks as training for this sort of thing or summat?

Whats your secret? :worthy: I mean you live on Skye are there many training boards

I'm all  ears give us the lowdown  :deal:

greg, we've had a few run ins on here but thats just banter and water under the bridge as far i'm concerned. however, although i'm sure u mean nothing by it, all this dissing of si is making u look bad, not him.

all respect, jonny

It really cracks me up how you get chastised for asking questions, whats wrong with asking a guy whos climbed V15 how he achieved it? I have asked Gaskins and he's happy as Larry to tell you all about how he trains!

Don't you think its absolutely amazing how Si maintains his standard living where he does? Its awesome! I'm merely impressed and want to know more.  :D

sorry but i wouldn't consider that a question more of a blatant piss take.

so how does gaskins train? i'd be really interested to know how a top boulderer trains.

<officious>Don't worry Owen, it's all noted - if it gets to too much CTism then I'm gonna moderate....I know it's a fine line sometimes but once the rot sets in things often go downhill from there on.

I'm not a fan of fluffy bullshit, but I *am* a fan of people talking about whatever and giving their opinions without it getting petty and personal.

To be fair to si, its not hard to see why he would be tentetive about telling everyboy how he trains. Although I do think it would be quite hard to slag him off no matter what he says on this (unless its either: nothing, or 8 x4000 one arm pull ups on campus rung etc. etc.).
