I am going to upgrade the server OS tonight UK time. Hopefully that will work OK and the site will be back up for Tuesday morning.

Some time after I am back from Smith in mid-October I will upgrade the forum software. Perhaps that will deal with these frequent recent outages/ PM borks/ etc?

Every time I post since the site came back up, or perhaps since the server upgrade, I receive this message:

Database error

Please try again. If you come back to this error screen, report the error to an administrator.

although the post will have been successful.

Not a great issue for me but just thought it worth mentioning, could be a problem with the database/site/server.

If you add your email address to your profile then there will be a a link under your avatart for people to email you as well as the link to PM you.  If PMs aren't working then use emails (saves having to try and mask your email address in a post to the forum).

Caveat : I forgot there is an explicit option to allow others to email you which will need selecting from your Account Settings/Profile.
