Yes - well done to the grumpy bastard. And well done for carrying on being a grumpy bastard rather than an over trained media puppy.

Dunno how I missed this thread around the US Open, probably too tired from the late nights.

Interesting to see that Muzzle has been voted Tennis Writers Association Ambassador of the Year so it appears the journos appreciate his manner and humour even though the public might not get it.
I was sitting by some mums at swimming yesterday who were saying he should never have won 3rd in SPOTY, what did he do to deserve it, what a grumpy fucker he is, etc. (Apparently Jess should have won although they grudgingly accepted Brad's achievements)

I must admit to not being a fan of tennis.

But listening to the Djokovic v Wawrinka on the radio was riveting stuff.

Amazing match, bit like the Ryder Cup maybe, I'm no fan of that but it was a fascinating finish with the momentum swinging so wildly.
Gutted for Stan, lovely bloke, the most likeable Swiss on the tour, but Djokovic always comes through these matches somehow.

There were so many great shots from both players, sad to see Stan lose. Looks like he was in tears for a while afterwards as well

Bet he was rueing not challenging that line call that the umpire told him was out, looked pretty tight, but mostly in, on the replays.

edit: only one break though, still on tenterhooks here although Andy seems fired up and Fed looks a bit despondent again

Hate to jinx it but Murray doesn't look in any danger of losing on his serve.....

He doesn't but Fed has moments when he just steps it up and there's nothing can be done.

Could have done it in three
Should have done it in four
Eventually gets there in five
And relax

Made Federer look pretty ordinary in that 5th set which is no mean feat.

Made him look ordinary in the first and third too. He was in the ascendancy the whole match.

Great game of tennis for Murray. Might need to be a bit more on top of the tie breaks come Sunday to have a chance. should be an amazing final :)

Thought I'd resurrect this thread in light of Wimbledon starting. Some interesting times ahead over the next two weeks potentially.

Womens - With Serena pregnant and Venus struggling with the fallout of the accident it is totally wide open. Azarenka is back from maternity, Sharapova "has an injury", will this be Konta's time?

Mens - Come on Andy! Since Novak found god he's lost his cutting edge, Stan stumbled out yesterday, as did Kyrios, Tomic's just gone, it's looking like a good tournament already, Ferrer and Gasquet seems like a great match, post steroid Nadal seems to be in one piece, Fed has been on fire in Halle, bring it on!
