I thought this deserved a thread of its own. A surgeon involved speaks to the Guardian newspaper:

 Life changing injuries for many of the victims, including children. That will cost money. If you are minded to contribute, or fortunate enough to be able to afford to do so, the Red Cross is a trustworthy charity. Justgiving pages may not be so reliable.
