Van buying question
April 29, 2017, 06:35:38 pm
Hello van people.

I need your help.

I now live in the Netherlands, and all of a sudden van life has become appealing. This is mostly due to the nearest crag being 3 hours drive away.

However, as this is something of a whim I am not financially prepared to just buy a van. I have seen this 2002 Mercedes Vito for 1550 euros, with only 80000 miles on the clock.

This seems to good to be true. Is this a good deal? What should I know before I take the plunge?

from what i know the older vitos can be full of rust. be careful and make sure you have a good look at the chassis and body work.

Yeah, Vitos are very prone to rust. Have a good look online for where to look and make sure you give a it a good once over. We got our T4 in the Netherlands. Much cheaper than the UK. Watch, dutxh tax is expensive for vans (£1k/yr) and you might not be able to drive in central Amsterdam.
