Any advice on short stay places for Fontainebleau. Only really looking for somewhere for a couple of nights. Anywhere really, only ever camped and stayed in gites. Not very keen to take all of the camping stuff for 2 nights

Stayed here for a couple of nights last year and it is really nice. Owners are super cool. Also have pads that I am sure you could borrow if you messaged them.

+1 on the Moret Formule 1. Have done 2 week-long solo trips in the past which were a bit bleak in the middle of Feb, but if you're only there a day or two they'll be OK.

Failing that, me and a couple of mates rented a static caravan / park home thing at the camping at Courtelles De Lido in Veneaux les Sablons, east of Fontainebleau.

Perfectly fine, nice to have a proper bed, fridge for beers and a shower. Caravan itself was chilly though, take lots of layers. Campsite even had a crazy golf course.

The Etap (or whatever it is called now) near the station in Font is a good location, near food, climbing, supermarket etc. The F1 at Moret is kind the arse end of nowhere.

Premiere Class in Nemours if you want super cheap and super crap! Good location for Rocher Greau, but don't expect clean carpets :'(
