World Cyclocross Championship
January 28, 2017, 10:54:37 am
Team GB have started these with a bang. First second and third in the men's juniors.
It's on the Eurosport player and well worth a watch some great bike handling going on.

Sorry, but given the farce with the Belgian woman and her e-bike in last year's cyclocross worlds, I'm simply unable to even consider taking any form of bike sport seriously any more.

Which is a pity because I'm sure most people involved are honest and hard working athletes and I used to enjoy watching grand tours and suchlike on TV. But the entire top level of the sport just seems so irretrievably corrupt these days.

Can we avoid top level climbing disappearing down the same credibility hole?

I guess you no longer follow or watch any sport as I can't think of one where someone hasn't tried to cheat.

There's a difference between someone trying to cheat and the entire top echelon of a major sport successfully cheating for a decade or more.

I'm not suggesting btw that I suspect anybody in the uk men's junior cyclocross team of anything. I just think it's a shame that they find themselves through no fault of their own in a sport that is so tainted by well justified public cynicism.

So you avoid cross country skiing and the like, football, athletics, track and field, golf, tennis and rugby.
I could go on :worms:

As it happens yes. Grand tour cycling was the only spectator sport I ever had much interest in before world cup bouldering came along.

Nobody has ever been disqualified in World Cup bouldering for cheating then.

Get a f*cking grip. No, as it happens I do not believe that every single world cup bouldering winner over a period of a a decade or more was blatantly doped to the gills.

Edit: I freely admit I may be unfair tarring cyclocross with the same brush as the TdF. That's the way public perceptions among outsiders tend to work, sadly.

Or you could just get over it?

CBS 60 minutes on mechanical doping last night.

12 riders in the 2015 Tour de France said to have used motors.

Comp climbers clearly need little concealed crampons that fit perfectly in an M10 bolt hole.

Kickstarter here I come.
