Yer I was going to ring, probably only way to be sure. The advice on the website isnt clear to me as there are different systems in place depending on where you start from however I dont know if they mean where the start of the trip is from (so from the UK for us) of if it means the individual legs.... There is a diff system , a piece concept vs weight concept, when 'starting' from Africa and on the piece concept it looks like any normal sized pad would be a no no....
South African Airways wasn't clear to us so I rung up, they said we got a piece of hold luggage and a piece of sports equipment as standard. The check in people were the biggest hassle. Just be confident and stern with them
