Peugeot 106 £50
January 05, 2017, 04:08:05 pm
Time to sell my much loved peugeot 106.  £50.   Sheffield based (S8)

Its been owned by me or a family member for about 10(+?) years.  It's never not started and it has never broken down or had to have the AA called for it etc.

Proper decent little car but need to get rid of it due to the amount of stuff a baby and a dog need so we've up-sized.

It's not got much on the MOT (mid Jan i think)  which is reflected in the price.  I'm fairly certain it will get through without much problem.

You'll notice the sticker on the side, this just covers a bit of a dent/scratch that my wife managed to on our driveway.
It also has a roof rack which I'll chiuck in too (probably worth at least £20)

Send me a message on here to buy/view.

Thanks,
Marcus

I had a few as hire cars in the 90s

Yeah, they're really good. I really enjoy driving it compared to modern cars, I like the way you can feel every thing that's going on with no electronic interruptions. Very straightforward no nonsense cars.

Been for some esoteric White Edge bouldering?
Looks like a right bargain for £50 :)

Good identification skills!  I can squeeze 3 average sized pads in it too which is another reason someone should buy it.

It is a total bargain.  I'm basically asking scrap value for it so if you buy it and don't like it you will most certainly get your money back and probably a bit more.  Its just far too good and I'm too sentimental to scrap it.

Just had a look at the tyres and they should also get through the MOT.  Cheap winter motoring!

I had the 1.5 diesel version back in the mid-2000s. Great economy and fun handling even at though it was really sluggish. Bet the GTis were a handful.

Broke the one rule of car-buying and inspected it in the dark. The thing lasted about 6 weeks before it blew a head gasket on the M1 en route to Sheffield.

You could keep it in the back of your van as a spare ?

Hi folks.

Just been to have a look at the car. Marcus, great to meet you.

Really tidy little car. I'll check out previous MOT details online, as you suggested.

As I explained to Marcus, I've not taken out car insurance for a few years, and have lost my (full) no claims discount. Shopping around for a decent quote, but £980 TPFT is a bit steep for me. Car is perfect though.

In case anyone is worried about forum etiquette, but is interested, just go ahead and buy the car if it's what you're looking for.

Looks like a bargain.

Dave.

Did you get a quote for fully comp Dave? Bizarrely it's often cheaper..

Thanks Tom, that could be a good idea. Don't really want to be taking out a new mortgage, to drive a car  ;) I'm sure I got a better deal when I started driving as a 19 year old. Could maybe go for a classic, though I'll have to bite the bullet at some point.

Or enquire about limited mileage - or having a box fitted to the car to track your driving. All of these can get the price down.

I'm quite tempted to buy this, and get a year of insurance, so as not to lose my NCB as I've had a company car for nearly 2 years now.

Update:

I've now put this on ebay because I need it gone by monday at the latest (my insurance expires on it on tuesday lunch) and it doesn't look like I'll shift it through the forums by then. Thank you all for the interest in it though, I, and the car, really appreciate it :)

Someone has bid on it at £60.50 at the moment.  However, if someone from here will come and drive it away today I'll honour my initial price of £50 otherwise I think I'd be silly to ignore the extra few quid I'll get through ebay.

I hope that is not unreasonable?

Thanks again
